The Profile Updater is the newest addition to Profile Viewer. It gives you sliders and pickers right inside the panel that let you **change a visitor's profile attributes on the fly — and actually push that change into AEP in real time.** It's built for "what-if" style demos: adjust a value, hit Apply, and show the audience how personalization reacts immediately, without ever leaving the demo site or touching AEP directly.

### Why it's useful

Before the Profile Updater, showing "what happens if this customer were a loyalty member instead of a guest" (or any similar what-if) meant either faking it, or leaving the demo to edit the profile directly in AEP and coming back. The Profile Updater turns that into a two-click action you can do live, in front of an audience, without breaking the flow of the demo.

### How to use it

1.     Open Profile Viewer and find the **Profile Updater** tab or card (only shown if the project has it turned on).

2.     Adjust one or more of the sliders or pickers to the values you want to demo.

3.     Hit **Apply**.

4.     The change is sent straight to AEP for the current visitor. Once it succeeds, go show the rest of the demo reacting to the new profile — a different offer, a different audience, a different experience.

### Things to know

·       **The visitor needs to be identified first.** If the current visitor is anonymous, you'll see a message asking you to sign them in (for example, with an email) before Apply will work. This is because the update needs a real identity to attach the change to.

·       **Your changes stick around.** Once you apply a change, it's remembered locally in the panel, so switching between tabs or sections won't make it disappear or force an awkward reload.

·       **What you see is fully customizable.** Which attributes appear as sliders or pickers, and their ranges or options, are set up per project by the project owner — just like the other sections.


### How it's customized in Builder 

Everything about what Profile Viewer shows for a given demo is controlled from the project's settings .
·       Turn the **Profile Updater** on with a single checkbox, and define exactly which attributes appear as sliders or pickers, with their labels, ranges, and options.
