Golden Profiles are dedicated sets or profiles to be used for demonstration. Each of them is vertically specific and has a dedicated set of profile data, events, and audiences resolved accurately.

Example of retail public profile:

You can have your copy of Golden Profile and even use it while logging on to the website to show profile merge. Remember that one profile can have a maximum of 50 identities merged. 

Every copy of Golden Profile will have a unique email and other identities to avoid merging with other profiles.

### PREREQUISITES:

1. You need to have your sandbox configured as mentioned in the [Prepare demo environment](https://dsn.adobe.com/docs/step-1-preparing-demo-environment) chapter. Make sure the following schemas: Demo System - Profile Schema for CRM (Global v1.1), Demo System - Event Schema for CRM (Global v1.1), Demo System - Profile Schema for Website (Global v1.1), and Demo System - Event Schema for Website (Global v1.1) and appropriate datasets are on your sandbox. If they are not check the Troubleshooting section.

## 1:1 COPY OF GOLDEN PROFILES

### STEPS

To generate your copy of the golden profile you need to:

1. Go to the [Quick Setup screen](https://dsn.adobe.com/quick-setup). When opening it directly, make sure your sandbox is selected in the top left corner.

(OPTIONAL) 
Go to [https://dsn.adobe.com/environments](https://dsn.adobe.com/environments), select the sandbox you are working with and on the panel on the right select "Quick Setup".

 2\. Scroll down this screen and expand the "Advanced" section. Take a look at the "Data Import" column. Here you can choose which golden profile copy will be created for you. For this exercise, we will create a retail profile. Select "Retail Profiles" and "Retail Events"

3\. Click "Start" in the top right corner. Provide the title (However this time it won't be used anywhere) and wait.

 4\.  After a while you should see results and also information about the email assigned to the new profile.

All data were uploaded to appropriate datasets. You need to wait a while until they will be merged and available to search for. Check the datasets for data import:

5\. After about 10 minutes you should be able to search for the profile by ECID or email:

The profile UI/panels however are not the same as those in the original golden profiles. It requires an API call to make them the same or you can do that manually. We won't expose the API as multiple users might be using the same sandbox for different verticals. If you want your profile panels to be updated with API please reach out to us and we will help you do that.

## CUSTOMIZED VERSION OF GOLDEN PROFILE

### STEPS

To create a customized version of the golden profile you need to


1\. Go to [https://dsn.adobe.com/data](https://dsn.adobe.com/data).

2\. There is a Golden Profiles section in the left column at the bottom. Here you can download a package with JSON files which will include profile data and events. You can update those files manually if you need new values or new events. Always make sure the updated JSON structure matches your schema structure. After updating the file you need to upload them to the appropriate dataset.

TROUBLESHOOTING

1. I have no CRM schema and dataset in my sandbox.

Go back to the Prepare Demo Environment section and select the vertical you are interested too. Check the advanced section there.
